What is a Timestamp Converter?
A Timestamp Converter transforms Unix epoch timestamps (seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC) into human-readable dates and times in IST, UTC, and ISO 8601 format — and converts any date back to a Unix timestamp. It also shows a live real-time epoch counter.
How to Use It
- 1Paste a Unix timestamp (e.g. 1751366400) to convert it to a readable date
- 2Or enter a date and time to get the corresponding Unix timestamp
- 3Toggle between seconds and milliseconds (JavaScript uses milliseconds)
- 4View the result in IST (UTC+5:30), UTC, and ISO 8601 format simultaneously
Example
Unix timestamp 1751366400 → 1 July 2026, 05:30:00 IST (00:00:00 UTC). Converting back: 1 July 2026 00:00:00 UTC → 1751328000. JavaScript Date.now() returns milliseconds: 1751366400000.
Why Use It
- Debug API responses that return Unix timestamps instead of readable dates
- Convert database timestamp fields for log analysis and monitoring
- Understand token expiry times in JWT 'exp' claims
- Handle timezone conversions between UTC and IST (UTC+5:30)
