What is a Image Compressor?
An Image Compressor reduces the file size of images (PNG, JPG, WebP) by re-encoding them at a lower quality setting or resizing their dimensions. All processing happens in your browser — images are never uploaded to any server.
How to Use It
- 1Upload one or more images by clicking or dragging and dropping
- 2Adjust the quality slider (lower % = smaller file, more compression)
- 3Optionally set maximum width or height to resize the image proportionally
- 4Click 'Compress' and download the compressed image
Example
A 3MB JPG photo at 100% quality compressed to 75% quality → approximately 600KB (80% reduction) with minimal visible quality loss. Adding a max-width of 1920px further reduces it if the source was larger.
Why Use It
- Optimize images for websites to improve page speed and reduce bandwidth costs
- Reduce WhatsApp/email attachment size before sharing
- Batch compress product photos before uploading to e-commerce platforms
- All processing is private and local — no cloud upload required
